About the experiment
DinkFair makes the tradeoff visible.
DinkFair is built by Openverse Technology for volunteer and paid organizers running recurring open play with 4–32 players and 1–8 courts. Its narrow product wedge is a deterministic Fairness Receipt—not generic club software.
Evidence boundary
DinkFair is an early experiment, not a market-validation claim. Expansion requires five organizers to use it in a second real session and three real purchases.
Method
The engine prioritizes game balance and avoidable consecutive byes, then partner variety and opponent variety. Completed rounds are immutable, accepted state is versioned, and fixtures cover supported roster/court combinations and infeasible cases.
Deliberate non-goals
DinkFair does not offer club discovery, RSVP, DUPR integration, leagues, brackets, chat, payment collection, team management, Android, or a cloud account in version 1.
Sources and change record
The calculator’s formulas and fairness order are published on this site. The canonical product code and internal tests are maintained in a private Forgejo repository. Apple and Cloudflare implementation details follow their current official documentation; legal name checks are best-effort, not legal clearance.
